Salome, Arizona is a lovely little town less than two hours from Phoenix and a perfect place for those who love history and exploration. The La Paz County Park is nearby and has golfing, hiking trails, and many of the local community events are held here. If you would like longer, more intense hiking trails, Eagletail Mountains Wilderness Area is a great place for that. They have great places for photography and sight seeing as well as rock climbing. For astronomy buffs there is the Harquahala Peak observatory, it was built in 1920 and has all things history and astronomy and is definitely worth the visit. Although it is close by it is up a rugged road and four wheel drive is necessary but worth the effort to see. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to see it all.
