This year Oil City, PA celebrated 150 years, it was established in March of 1871 after residents sought a town charter from the state. It really started ten years previous when the first oil wells were drilled and it became a central location for the petroleum industry. Because of this the town is rich with tourism and historical sights and museums. They have many events year round put on by the city, during the summer there are concerts in the park every Friday night, there is a 4th of July party, an annual Blue Grass Festival as well as a New Years party. It is a wonderful town that celebrates its history and everything it is known for while simultaneously focusing on its future and continuing to build. It is a perfect area to be a part of and raise a family.
